Conflicting dates

In a Tokyo Shimbun (Tokyo Newspapers) article dated 27 October 1976, it says that Koike graduated from Cairo University in September that year as the first Japanese woman to have graduated from Cairo University, and returned to Japan in mid-October (it seems this statement was made being based solely on what Koike spoke). This is inconsistent with what is stated in her diploma, even if it is true which states she took the make-up exam in October that year and her graduation was approved in December. Therefore, graduation in September is an outright lie.

There is another lie. In another interview with the Sankei Shimbun (Sankei Newspapers) dated 22 October 1976, it was stated that Koike attended the graduation ceremony at Cairo University and returned to Japan on 11 October. But there was no graduation ceremony at Cairo University (Koike admitted this later) and in light of the description on her diploma her graduation would not have been approved yet at that time.

In the first place, it is doubtful whether Koike had a retake of the exam in October. In those days, flying from Egypt to Japan took almost a whole day, and the seven-hour time difference between Egypt and Japan meant that she would have had to leave Cairo on or before 9 October to arrive in Japan on 11October. In that case, she would have taken the exam on or before 8 October. If she really had to retake the exam, which would determine her graduation, she must have studied extremely hard and the flatmate would have noticed that. But there is no mention of that in the "Fake CV". The flatmate mentions that Koike was doing a part-time job at the Cairo branch of Japan Airlines. She also mentions that Koike was also busy raising money to temporarily return to Japan and asked the flatmate to buy Koike’s iron, kitchen knives, used lipsticks, etc. All these beg the question whether Koike really did take the exam.

Why does Koike tell so many lies and stories that are not true? If she really did graduate from Cairo University as the No.1 student, she could have simply stated the facts and be done with it.
